During the Enlightenment,the science,economy,philosophy,and many other fields developed rapidly in Scotland,which had a profound impact on the world.To this day,the influence is still discernible.The moral emotion theory mirrors itself in Scottish politics,economy and philosophy during the Enlightenment period.The idea of compassion as the basis of social order conceived by Scottish enlightenment ideologists accords with the traditional Chinese theory.In the new era,China could explore the appropriate theory from the tradition of attaching importance to human ethics and draw on the moral and emotional theory in the Scottish Enlightenment,so as to make its own theoretical exploration in the economy,politics and law.
