上帝遇见女犯:民国时期宗教与上海女监互动关系的微观考察

God Meets Female Offender:A Micro-Investigation of the Interaction between Religions and Shanghai Women's Jails in the Republic of China

民国时期,在政府的许可和支持之下,宗教团体与监狱之间有着密切的互动和往来。但是,不同的地域和监狱之内,各宗教团体的影响力和活跃度有着一定的差异。江苏第二监狱分监及上海监狱第一分监作为上海两所独立建制的新式女监,更多的是与天主教、基督教团体有着特殊的协作关系。这些团体在上海女监内的活动较为多样,除了协助进行宗教教诲之外,还广泛进行各种日常性的捐助,并发起组建了上海妇女出监人保护会。总体上而言,这些宗教团体对于女监的协助,实质上仍未跳脱其传统社会慈善事业的范畴;尽管如此,它们对于上海女监监务的正常运作,仍然有着积极的意义和作用。

During the period of the Republic of China, religious groups and prisons closely interacted with each other. However,the influence and activities of religious groups varied in different regions and prisons. The Branch of the Jiangsu Second Prison and the First Branch of Shanghai Prison were two independent women’s jails in Shanghai. The two prisons cooperated with Catholic and Protestant groups. In addition to preaching religions, the religious groups launched various donations and established the Shanghai Protection Commission for Released Female Offenders. On the whole,the assistances from religious groups did not transcend the traditional charitable activities. But they played a special role in the normal operation of the Shanghai Women’s Jails.
