2010年5月22-23日,受博鳌亚洲论坛秘书长、世界公益论坛主席龙永图邀请,中国绿色发展高层论坛秘书长、亚太环保协会副会长、中国绿色画报常务社长桂振华博士陪同"世界环保教父"、联合国前常务副秘书长、中国绿色发展高层论坛联合主席莫里斯.斯特朗先生,出席在江苏无锡灵山举行的世界公益论坛成立大会暨发起人大会。两位代表世界绿色环保领域的世界公益论坛全球发起人,在论坛间隙考察了中国最大的红豆杉培育基地。
Maurice F.Strong was born in Oak Lake,Manitoba.His father’s sister,Anna Louise Strong was a famous writer and a good friend of the Chinese.In 1966,Mr.Strong resigned as president of Power Corporation of Canada to head Canada’s External Aid Office,later reorganized as the Canadian International Development Agency.From November 1970 until December 1972,Mr.Strong was Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment.He then became the first Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.Mr.Strong returned to Canada as President,Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Petro-Canada(1976-78).Since 1985,he has been an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.In 1985 and 1986,he was concurrently Executive Co-ordinator of the United Nations Office for Emergency Operations in Africa and a member of the World Commission on Environment and Development.More recently,he was Secretary-General of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. Mr.Maurice F.Strong and Mr.Guizhenhua,chief editor of China Green Pictorial are initiator of Lingshan World Philanthropy Forum in China.Recently,Mr.Maurice F.Strong inspected Hongdou Group with Mr.Guizhenhua。
