痖弦的《盐》是一首戏剧化的现代诗,是对晚清当权者、知识分子及辛亥革命的批判性反思,具有丰富的历史内涵。农妇二嬷嬷竭力乞求基本的生存条件,渴望得到拯救和关怀,但终于在物质和精神的双重饥渴之中绝望地死去。她的悲号凝聚着战争、灾祸、苛捐重税之下中国农民的斑斑血泪,渗透着彻骨的寒冷和无告的悲凉,也是对渎职的上层社会的谴责和控诉。

The "Salt" is a piece of drama modern poem written by Yaxian. The poem is one judging introspection to the persons in power of in the late Qing Dynasty, the intellectual and the XinHai Revolution. So it is abundant with historical connotation. A woman peasant named "ERMOMO" begged for the basic survival conditions and wished eagerly that she could be rescued and cared. But finally the woman died for the lack of material and the support of spirit. Her sad cry was agaze with the Chinese peasants’ blood and tears from the tragedy of war, disasters, and high taxes. The poem "Salt" includes the dismals with no place to complain or seek for help. It also means to condem and complain the upper classes for their dereliction of duty.
