According to the newly declassified archival documents from Serbia, during the early Cold War and within the context of the change in Soviet-Yugoslav relations, the Yugoslavian government, with the approval of Moscow, accepted the request by the representatives of the government of the Republic of China to establish diplomatic relations.Shortly afterwards,a delegation of the Chinese Communist Party also visited Belgrade and conducted extensive talks with Tito. These episodes represent unknown history in Chinese-Yugoslav relations, reflecting the delicate and complicated interactions between Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, and China.
