教育是立国之本,立人是教育之本。一代"人师"恽代英在川南师范学校任职期间,对学校教育、教学和管理实施了较多改革。他为人师表,注重推行道德品性教育,他的教育思想曾影响了一代爱国青年,他把改革教育和改造社会有机结合起来,认为教育是为社会培育人才,以改造社会、服务社会为教育的出发点和最终归属。他的"教育服务社会,学生品学共融"的教育理念对当前教育也极具启迪意义。

Education is the foundation of a country while people cultivation is the foundation of education. During his teaching in Southern Sichuan Teacher's School, Yun Daiying attempted reformation in school education, teaching and management. He stresses on moral education. His education thought influenced the youth at the time. He combines education reform and social rebuilding. He regards education as starting points and final goals to cultivate talents for the society, to rebuild the society and to serve the society. His educational concept of education serving the society and students' integration of moral education and learning gives light to current education.
