由清人金天柱撰著的《清真释疑》一书真实地记录了雍乾社会伊斯兰教的发展状况,书成七年仍未刊行,著者又做一篇《书叙》。论述了伊斯兰教作为正教与儒家学说的同异之处,社会对伊斯兰教的误解以及造成误解的原因,叙述了著者来到四译馆担任教习一职的经过,四译馆的社会职能及其内部管理工作中的种种弊端,著者还叙述了自己撰写《清真释疑》的心理状态和社会人士对该书的积极评价。

Qing Zhen Shi Yi written by Jin Tian Zhu in Qing dynasy, is a record of Islam situation in Yong and Qian's time. However, the book remained unpublished even after seven years of its completion. Following up this book, the author wrote another book entitled Preface to Qing Zhen Shi Yi exploring the similarities and differences between Islam and Confucianism. It also analyses the causes of misunderstanding toward Islam. Furthermore, the writer in the same book relates his personal experience with Si Yi Guan, a then official institute in charge of translating affairs. The author introduces the social function of this institute and points out some managerial problems with it. In addition to these, the author provides the background of writing this book including his own psychological state, the circulation of the book and the positive comment given to it by the public.
