《楚辞章旬》是成书于东汉时期的一部重要训诂著作,其对《楚辞》中的大量重言词进行解释时注意运用义训法的多种体例随文揭示语词的意义,不为前人的注释材料所制约:同时注意运用各种训诂术语,使释义方式日臻完美,成绩卓著,为后世训诂学家所仿效。认识其重言词训释的状况,既有利于今人正确理解《楚辞》的语句,也可从中汲取研究和训释重言词的经验。

The Philological Study on the Songs of the South, written in East Han Dynasty, has always been outstanding work on exegesis. It excels in explaining a great number of reduplicated words in the Songs of the South by adopting many patterns of yixunfa (义训法) , totally free of the influence of former similar works On the other hand, its flexible use of a variety of exegesis terms also contributes to the perfection of explanation. All these achievements have made it a constant admiration of later scholars. A general knowledge of its methods in explaining reduplicated words will not only enable us to get a better understanding of the Songs of the South, but also allows us to draw from it some experience in studying and explaining reduplicated words.
