Nationalism and the Contemporary International Relations

人们越来越意识到民族主义在国际关系中所起的重要作用。在当今以民族———国家为世界体系的基本构建单元之时 ,作为与民族———国家相伴相生的民族主义 ,不断冲击着、改变着当代国际关系。置身于复杂的国际关系之中的民族主义 ,又受到国际关系和国际社会结构的制约和影响。国际关系和全球化成为民族主义消长的舞台。

The critical importance of nationalism in international relations is more and more realized. While nation-states are still the basic structure unit of the world system, nationalism coming up with nation-states, continuously affects and changes the contemporary international relations. On the other hand, both the international relations and the structure of international society have an important impact on nationalism. Nationalism is active on the stage of international relations and globalization. In a word, nationalism interacts with the contemporary international relations.
