On the promotion and cultivation of the Chinese national spirits

民族精神是一个民族赖以生存和发展的精神动力。中华民族在五千多年的发展中,形成了以爱国主义为核心的团结统一、爱好和平、勤劳勇敢、自强不息的伟大民族精神。在全面开展国民教育的今天,我们只有坚持弘扬和培育民族精神,才能使中华民族始终保持昂扬向上的精神状态,自立于世界民族之林。

National spirits is a spiritual motive power for a nation to exist and develop. Chinese nation, in the five-thousand-year development, has established the great national spirits of solidarity and unity, peace-loving, diligence and bravery, continuous self-reneual around the centre of patriotism. In the course of all-round promotion of the national education, we should only stick to promoting and cultivating the Chinese national spirits so as to make the Chinese nation always retain active and positive spirits in ranking among the world's nation.
