MAP OF THE NEWEST BOTTOM-MATERIAL TYPES OF CHINA OFFSHORE CONTINENTAL SHELF

本文系统地总结了编绘我国近海陆架沉积物(底质)类型分布图的历史和过程,阐述了近海海底沉积物的类型、分布及其形成规律,并提供了一幅最新的沉积类型图。

The two bottom-material type maps, compiled respectively by Niino H. and Emery K. O. in 1961 on the basis of bottom-material signs of sea chart and by Qin Yunshan in 1963 according to data from China's first general marine investigations, are two most significant maps of bottom-material types of China continental shelf. The newest bottom-material map came out as one of the contents of the Qarternary geological map of China(l:2500000) published in 1990. This map is showing converted and united data by φ grain class and Shepard's triangular graphic method. It is a high summary of all results gained from investigations from 60's to 80's. The map showed in this paper is simplified. The paper first gives a simple history of bottom-material type maps and an analysis about sedimentation on continental shelf according to the newest map, and then discusses in detail mud and sand sedimentary environments and also some interesting problems about deposition.
