There exisit no prestigious universities without master teachers.A master teacher is one who enjoys fame and prestige,and is deeply respected and beloved by students.A master teacher should possess noble professional morality,exquisite basic teaching skills and distinctive characters of teaching.Institutions of higher learning should attach great importance to the cultivation of master teachers at the strategic level,trying to implement 'the master teacher project'in combination with 'the talented personnel project'and 'the first_class research project',and integrate the selection and cultivation of master teachers with the management of them so as to maintain the vitality and vigour of the development of master teachers for the improvement of teaching quality,and the step_up of the reform as well as the development of higher education in the new century.
