This paper expounds the necessity of library's information filtering and controlling, puts forward the theoretical foundation of library's information filtering and controlling, and points out that library's information filtering and controlling will become the foundation of library's active individualized service, and library will resolve the contradiction between the disorder of literature information and the specificality of information demand and make the readers obtain the maximum of required information from the minimum of literatures.
