The paper introduces an ultrasonic testing technique using shear wave method for curved surface with changeable curvature and an auto-ultrasonic testing equipment suited for small size nozzle welds. The technique and equipment provide an effective measure for solving the inspection difficulties of small nozzle fillet welds.
