文化图式的可译性及其实现手段

Translatability and Translation of Cultural Schemata

语言与文化有着密不可分的关系,文化需要通过语言加以表达和传承,语言又受到文化的影响。因此,翻译既是语言的翻译更是文化的翻译。本文试图提出“文化图式”这一概念,指出文化图式具有可译性。文化图式的翻译有助于引进外来文化,促进不同民族间的文化交流。文化图式的可译性可以通过A-A、A-B、A-Zero三种对应方法来实现。

Language and culture are closely related in the sense that language expresses and transmits culture, while culture influences language. Therefore, translation can be more appropriately perceived at the level of culture than that of language. The article presents the concept of 'cultural schema' and discusses its translatability. It describes how the concept can improve our understanding of the communication of cultural messages through translation. The translatability, it argues, can be realized through the matching pattern of A-A, A-B, or A-Zero.
