摘要
本文运用定量研究的方法 ,在理工科大学生中进行阅读动机调查 ,提出欣赏型 /工具型阅读动机之说 ,并分析动机的强度与阅读能力的关系。结果发现 ,大学生的英语阅读动机较强 ,动机的强度与阅读能力相关 ,其中 ,欣赏型阅读动机与阅读能力的相关大于工具型。
Quantitative method is adopted in this study of college English learners' motivation in reading. The author proposes the term enjoymental / instrumental reading motivation and analyses its relationship with learners' reading proficiency. The investigation reveals that the overwhelming majority of college students demonstrate a very strong motivation towards English reading, that the relationship between motivational strength and reading proficiency is significant, and relevance of enjoymental motivation and reading proficiency is more significant than that of instrumental.
