It's an undeniable fact that Geoffrey Chaucer has contributed a lot to English literature as a whole. According to the theory of modern hermeneutics, different works of art can take on different meanings and significance during different ages. Chaucer's work, Canterbury Tales, has its significance even today, half a millennium after its appearance. By using Bakhtin's theory to reinterpret him, we can find more about this great poet.
