这次会议的主题是:深入学习贯彻党的十六大精神,系统总结2002年以及10年来三峡工程建设和总公司建设的主要成绩和基本经验,明确企业定位和发展目标,继往开来,与时俱进,抓住机遇,加快发展,确保实现三峡工程第二阶段三大目标。争取长江电力股份公司成功上市,加快溪洛渡、向家坝工程的前期工作,为开创三峡工程建设和总公司发展的新局面而奋斗。

In May of 2002, the upstream cofferdam began to be removed; on July first, the downstream cofferdam was removed; test and regulation without water and with water for the double-way &. five-step shiplock were conducted on July first and on Sept. first respectively; by the end of Oct. , all the left blocks of dam reached up to the design dam crest elevation of 185 m; on Nov. 6 the river closure on the open diversion channel was achieved ahead of the schedule; the third-phase RCC cofferdam is being placed; the installation of units Nos. 2 and 5 has been complete basically; and the bidding for the third-phase works has been completed. By the end of 2002, a total investment of RMB 91 bn was put into the project including static investment in resettlement, price difference and interests. The reform of corporate system has been launched. In April of 2002 the Three Gorges Cascade Control Center was set up; on Sept. 29 the China Yangtze Power Corporation Ltd was formed in Beijing and on Nov. 6 the organization of Three Gorges Hydro Power Plant was established officially. The State Council has approved construction of the Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba projects and pre-construction of the Wudongde and Baihetan with CTGPC as the Owner of thess projects.
