英语是主谓结构的语言 ,汉语是注重主题的语言。在英译汉中常会出现这两种结构的转换。本文对如何处理这种转换进行探讨。话题与语篇话语连贯性有着密切关系 ,在译文中可利用话题 。

English is subject predicate language while Chinese is topic prominent one.Translation from English into Chinese often involves the transfer of subject predicate structure into topic comment structure.As the topic plays an important role in Chinese text,this paper discusses some aspects in this area and argues that proper use of the topic in translation can render the version more coherent.
