Both the optical spot measurement and the convergence measurements play a key role in evaluating the performance of the electron gun and the deflection coil in fabricating color picture tubes (CPT).Various aspects of the existing equipment for optical spot and convergence measurement ,including their operating principles,their strengths and weaknesses in application,were analyzed to provide CPT designer with adequate information on measurement technique,equipment selection and measurement skills.
