On Shandong's Boycott Movement Against Japanese Goods During the May 4th Period

抵制日货运动是五四运动的主要内容之一,也是实现五四运动目标的重要手段。在山东抵制日货运动的过程中,形成了大规模的广泛的爱国统一战线,学生是其中最活跃的因素,商界是中坚。由于山东受日本帝国主义直接的政治压迫和经济剥削,山东抵制日货运动持续的时间较久,涉及地区较广。山东的抵制日货运动配合了五四运动的政治斗争,打击了日本帝国主义的侵略,促进了山东民族工商业的发展。

The boycott movement against Japanese goods was one of the ac t ivities of the May 4th Movement and it was also an important means to realize th e target of the May 4th Movement. In the course of the boycott against Japanese goods, a large-scale and extensive patriotic united front came into being. The s tudents were the most active factor and the backbone of the business circles. Be cause of the Japanese' direct political operation and economic expression, the b oycott movement in Shandong against Japanese goods lasted long and involved more places in the areas. It cooperated well with the May 4th Movement in the politi cal conflict and attacked the Japanese imperialists' invasion and promoted the d evelopment of Shandong national business circles.
