Reflections on the Role of Medical Ethics under the Economy Market System

医务工作是高尚医德和精湛医术的结合。在市场经济条件下,医疗服务渗入经营理念和趋利动机,必然对医务人员的医德观念产生负面影响。出现医德滑坡和医患关系失调现象。因此,必须进一步认清市场经济条件下医务工作的社会责任,明确医德在医务工作中的正确定位,坚持医德为本,强调“无德不医”,改善医患关系,促进医风好转。

Medical profession embodies high virtues as well as consummate skills. Under the market economy system, however, the pursuit of economic benefits in medical services undoubtedly has a negative effect on the concept of medical ethics in the field of medicine, the result being the weakening of the sense of medical ethics and the worsening of the relations between doctors and patients. Therefore it is necessary that we should be aware of the social responsibility of medical work and get a clear understanding of the role medical ethics play in medical work, so as to emphasize, cultivate and promote lofty virtues in medical profession.
