On Li Bai's Succession and Development of the Chinese Classical Poetry

李白是盛唐时期伟大的浪漫主义诗人,在诗歌史上有着崇高的地位。李白的成功,除了个人的天赋之外,还得力于对庄子、屈原以及曹植、谢月兆、鲍照等人诗歌创作的继承与借鉴,从而形成了自己独特的风格。此外,李白诗歌在题材和表现内容上对传统的诗歌也有拓展,对后代影响很大。

Being a romantic poet in the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai possessed a lofty position in the poetic history. He owed his success not only to his own gift but also to the succession and reference of the poems by Zhuang Zi, Qu Yuan, Cao Zhi, Xie Tiao and Bao Zhao, hence, forming his unique poetic style. In addition to that, Li Bai expanded the theme and contents of the traditional poetry, influencing the later generations greatly.
