Corresponding Development of "Two Strategies" and Reform of Physical Education Colleges and Universities

"两个战略"是我国新时期体育发展的指导方针,在实践工作中,我们应坚持"两个战略"协调发展,将二者有机结合起来,在社会主义市场经济条件下,"两个战略"的协调发展,必须有一个中介点。在科技迅猛发展的当前,体育事业的发展须依赖科技和教育,"两个战略"的协调发展同样依赖于科技和教育,体育院校有着科技和教育的双重优势,理当成为"两个战略"协调发展的中介点,但我国体育院校发展至今存在着一些不足和缺陷,必须进行全方位改革,才能成为"两个战略"协调发展的中介点。

The 'two strategies' are the 'strategy for winning honors in the Olympics and the National Fitness Program in China', which is the guiding principle of the sport development of China in the new period. In practice the 'two strategies' should adhere to corresponding development and they should be combined organically. Under the condition of the social market economy there should be an intermediate point between the corresponding developments of the 'two strategies'. At present sciencetechnology is developing rapidly. The development of physical education and sport should rely on sciencetechnology and education. And the corresponding development of the 'two strategies' depends on science-technology and education as well. Colleges and universities have their dual advantages, which ought to become the intermediate point of the development of the 'two strategies', but up to now there still exist deficiency and defect in the development of physical education colleges and universities in China. Only the alldirectional reform is carried through in colleges and universities of physical education, can they become the intermediate point of the corresponding developments of the 'two strategies'.
