The article introduces the main functions, applications, protection properties and standards executed of various kinds of low-voltage circuit breakers, summarizes 50 year's development, production and developing experiences of low-voltage circuit breakers in our country since the establishment of the Republic. It also looks into the development trend for the circuit breakers in our country when it is the time to enter into the 21st century.
