Second Farewell to Cambridge' is not just a poem depicting scenery nor a departing poem nor a love poem, nor a pocitical poem. It's a silent song after the poet's frustrations of all his ideals. Cambrige is more of the poet's spiritual home than his mother school. It's a symbol of all his ideals. Silent Cammidge is not only the image,which annotates the poet's lonely soul,but also the carrier of the theme of the poem.
