由于辽文学史料散佚良多,影响到人们对辽代文学的认识和研究。历代学人整理辽代文学史料的建树,主要反映在总集编纂、资料汇辑和书目撰著三方面。近900年来辽文学史料整理的历史呈由散而聚、百川汇海之势。现代辽文学史料整理工作的特点是有全面、系统的规划和统一、科学的规范,出现了一些集大成式的成果,但仍存在某些不足。应提高辽代文学史料学研究的品位,使古籍整理升华到理论研究层次。

The Scholars' contribution on the study of Liao Dynasty literary historical materials in successive dynasties is mirrored in the compilation of works,historical materials,and booklists.The historical trend of the study of Liao Dynasty literary historical materials in almost 900 years was from scatter to concentration,just like that all rivers flow to the sea. The characteristics of the study of Liao Dynasty literary historical materials is overall,systematic planning and unified,scientific standard.A number of comprehensive achievements have appeared, also, the weaknesses still existed. The grade of the study of Liao Dynasty literary historical materials should be raised,and ancient books research should be sublimated to theoretical level. 
