Combining XML and CORBA: Improving the Flexibility of a Distributed System

摘要 1.引言 CORBA与XML是近年来计算机界研究的两个热点.CORBA是一种开放的、平台无关、语言无关的网络通信模型,目前被广泛应用于分布式系统中;而XML,作为一种元标记语言,其固有的灵活性和可扩展性,使得它在各个不同的领域大显身手. XML and CORBA are two technologies widely used for creating sophisticated. distributed object systems on heterogeneous platforms. This article begins with a brief introduction to CORBA and XML. After an in-depth analysis of their characteristics and the sorts of problems they are intended to solve, we point out that XML and CORBA are mostly complementary. We then discuss the points for applying XML in CORBA-based distributed systems. We focus on how to achieve the flexibility and extensibility of the distributed computing systems by combining XML and CORBA. At the end of the article, two implementation approaches are introduced, the relevant evaluation of them are also given.
