A new line code MB810 for 10G PHY is analyzed. The key feature of the code is that it preserves many good code properties of the 8B/10B code, a 1GbE standard and strong candidate even for 10GbE, and yet consumes the half bandwidth of the 8B/10B code. And the theoretical background, design principle, performance characteristics, implementation issues, and the comparison with 8B/10B code are taken into account also.
