The objective of this study was to find the effects of syrup diets with different levels of Ca,Mg,Fe and Zn on the survivability of honey bees, consequentially to provide some references for supplement strategy of these four mineral. There were 11,12,14 and 15 treatment levels for Ca,Mg,Fe and Zn mineral nutrition, which was provided to bees by 50% syrup. The results indicated that low mineral treatment levels, including Ca(0-100 mg/kg),Mg(50 mg/kg), Fe(0-20 mg/kg) and Zn(30 mg/kg),significantly improved bee survivability( P <0.05);treated within 24,48 and 96 hours, LC50 of Fe to bees was333.09, 219.34 and 163.05 mg/kg, respectively, while that of Zn to bees 945.27,670.19 and 380.33 mg/kg, suggesting toxicity of Fe was obviously higher than Zn; the Ca and Mg was less toxic to bees compared with Fe and Zn.
