5th Jiamuyang's way of Promoting Buddhism in late Qing

甘肃甘南藏区拉卜楞寺与蒙古部族之间的佛教文化交流互动是18世纪初以来藏蒙关系的重要组成部分。1898年3月至1899年8月期间,该寺寺主嘉木样四世东行朝游五台山、进京朝觐清帝期间,往返取道内蒙古草原,结识王公贵族,施教官民僧俗,开展多项活动,进一步增强了彼此的宗教情感,为发展双方供施关系起到承前启后的作用。

The buddhism's cultural exchange and interaction of South Gansu Tibetan Area's Labrang temple and Mongolian Tribes is important component of Mongolians and Zangs from Early 18 Century.From march 19S8 to August 1988,Labrang temple's presider 5th Jiamuyang eastwardly visited Wutai Mountain,and presented himself before Qing Dynasty's monarch.In the meantime,he got acquainted with dukes,princes and aristocrats,propagandized Buddhism to officials and common people by way of inner mongolian grassland.The activities not only enhanced each other's religious emotion,but also played a role of linking the previous fauna with the succeeding fauna in developing both supply and almsgiving relation.
