塔尔巴哈台厄鲁特总管旗又称厄鲁特十苏木,是清代塔尔巴哈台边防力量的重要组成部分,曾为保卫西北边疆的安全与稳定,做出过重大牺牲和不朽的贡献。厄鲁特十苏木主要由厄鲁特、察哈尔、柯尔克孜三部分人组成,还包括少量土尔扈特人、哈萨克人。厘清十苏木厄鲁特的历史源流和形成经过,将有助于我们更好的认识和解读清朝的边务策略和民族政策。

The Olet Banner of Tarbakhatai,also known as the Ten Sumuts of Olets,was an important part of the border defense forces of Tarbakhatai in Qing Dynasty.It had made great sacrifices and immortal contribu-tions to safeguarding the security and stability of the Northwest frontier.The ten sumuts fo Olets were mainly composed of three parts,including Olets,Chakhar and Kirgiz.They also included a small number of Turghuts and Kazakhs.To clarify the historical origin and formation of Ten Sumuts of Olets will help us gain a good understanding of Qing Dynasty’s frontier policy and national policy.
