翻译研究的后殖民话语

Postcolonial Discourses in Translation Studies

当前在西方学院机构里流行的后殖民主义思潮已渗入翻译理论界,开始引起了许多英美翻译理论家对殖民和后殖民语境里的翻译活动的重视,着手研究翻译与帝国、翻译与文化身份、翻译与殖民主义霸权之间的历史共谋关系等热点问题.本文通过扼要评述近年来西方学术界探索后殖民翻译理论的重要代表性著作,指出该理论注重分析蕴涵在翻译文本之中的权力关系和历史语境,为新世纪的翻译研究提供了全新的视角和思维方法.

Prevalent among the academics in the West nowadays, post colonialism has penetrated into the field of translation studies. Many translation theorists in Britain and the United States begin to pay attention to the translation activities in the colonial and postcolonial contexts, making attempts to examine various hot issues as translation and empire, translation and cultural identity, the historical conspiracy between translation and colonial hegemony. By commenting several representative works recently published in the West dwelling on postcolonial translation theory, this paper holds that the newly emerging postcolonial translation theory attaches great importance to analyze the power relations and historical contexts underlying the translated texts, thus providing a new perspective and methodology for translation studies in the new millennium.
