In translation, ideology is an 'invisible hand', which influences and manipulates the translator’s translation of the source language and the readers’ acceptance of the translation, but this fact has been neglected for a long time. We only focus on the analysis of the link and influence among the original, translation, translators and readers, while ignoring the role of ideology. This paper will explain the relationship between ideology and translation from two aspects: the mainstream ideology and the individual ideology, thus emphasizing the importance of ideology and its influence in translation.
