A comparison of English with Chinese Mama word family

据猜想和假说,原始人类的最初语根之一ma,含有三个语义,它们各自的语义发展层次为由少到多、由简单到复杂,由此说明语言起源有一定的道理。语言工作者的任务就是发现这种语根,论证这种语义发展,解释复杂的语言现象。

Based on the comparison of English with Chinese, it is supposed that mama must be one of the original speech roots, which has at least three meanings, each developing into a large complicated system. Thus, from a cognitive viewpoint, the combination of sound and meaning is inevitable. The task of the linguist is to find as many such speech roots as possible and explain their ways of sense evoloution.
