The Tone Translation in Literary Works

口气是用来表达情感、态度和观点的一种语言手段。文学作品中作者通过各种语言手段来表达口气 ,直接或间接地流露作者本人或笔下人物的情感、态度和观点。翻译时要注意准确无误地体会并译出原文的口气。本文借助大量汉译英的实例从三个方面 (词汇、句子结构和语境 )来论述表达口气的基本方法。

Tone reveals the author's and his characters' feelings, attitudes and points of view. In literary works, tone is usually expressed directly or indirectly through words and phrases, sentence structure and context. This essay discusses in detail the above three basic approaches revealing the tone by citing examples selected from Chinese stories translated into English.
