以柴油机作动力的矿用内燃机车已在全世界许多矿业中占有较重要的地位,它的重要性越来越显示出来。防爆柴油机车在一些主要产煤国家煤矿井下已使用达数十年之久。由于使用这种机车作运输的牵引动力具有安全、灵活、经济的优点,已为一些国家如西德、法国、捷克、英国、罗马尼亚、澳大利亚、苏联、日本及美国等作为煤矿井下运输的主要动力设备。柴油机车能否安全使用于煤矿井下,关键是解决以下几个问题,即柴油机的防爆,柴油机的废气净化。
Whether or not the diesel locomotives can be used underground depends on such factors as the non-explosiveness of diesel loco, purification of waste gas, safety of electrical equipment and operation and requirements of the diesel loco to underground ventilation.
Explosion-proof measures are taken in air intake system and exhaust cooling system and provisions have been made in the structure to lower the surface temperature of various parts of the loco. For purifying the exhaust gas a vortex combustion chamber is adopted and torque and power of the diesel engine is increased. Automatic warning systems are excessive temperature, overdrive, overpressure etc. Methods for calculating the required air quantity for safety purposes are also described.
