Bolt-Beam-Net Support System Applied in Large Ctoss-Section Gateway in 'Three Soft'Coal Seam

A so called bolt-beam-net support system is a combined support form which is using split set bolts,steel-plate beam and plastic net for roof support of a gateway and using polyurethane wooden bolts (or cement bamboo bolts), roof bolt plates and bamboo net for both side ribs. In Jietai Mine of Xuzhow Coal Mine Administration, this support system has been used in gateways in 'three soft' (i.e.soft roof, soft rib and soft floor) seam for an industrial trial. Good results have been achieved from the trial. This paper presents detailed informations on the trial gateway conditios, operation of the boltbeam-net support system, measured results of the mine pressure on the gateway, analysis of the measured results and analysis of the technical and economic results. This practice has shown that this combined support system can effectively control the surrounding rocks of the gateway. It also shows that it's feasible in technology and reasonable in economic.
