阿部次郎因哲学性散文《三太郎的日记》而得名。在日本大正时代,他是'教养主义'的代表,备受人们爱戴。他横跨东西方广泛地吸收文化的给养,对生活保持真诚的同时,也在文化的多样性与自我归属的认同之间徘徊。写于1917年的《美学》是对西奥多·利普斯的'移情美学'的摘译。利普斯以心理学上的原理'移情(感情移入)'为基础发展了他的哲学。阿部主要从利普斯的《美学》、《伦理学》以及《心理学原论》中吸收了其美学的精华。他高度赞扬利普斯的人格,之后出版的《人格主义》就是一本以利普斯的伦理学为基础、涉及当时政治问题的著作。尽管阿部拥有广博而深远的美学知识,但是他却没能完成自我美学体系的建构。这是因为'移情美学'并不是一个可以被替代的、相对的理论,而是一种建立在'人格主义'基础上的完整的世界观,具有不可替代的独特性。他将自己的美学立足点称作'内发的美学',这种思想包含了审美体验、审美表现、审美解释以及文化哲学,但是'移情'依然在他的系统中占据着中心的位置。
Abe Jiro is famous for his philosophical essay'Diary of Santaro'and has been regarded as a representative of Culturalism of the Taisyo era in Japan.He is interested in both Western and Eastern cultures and sincerely pursuing the way of living as Japanese by swaying between the diversity of cultures and the identity of his own personality.Abe wrote'Aesthetics'in 1917 which is a selected translation of'Empathic Aesthetics'by Theodor Lipps.Lipps develops his philosophy on the basis of the psychological principle of empathy.Abe reconstructs the essence of Lipps’s aesthetics mainly from his following works:?sthetik,Die ethischen Grundfragen,Leitfaden der Psychologic.Abe highly respects the personality of Lipps.Later he published a book titled Personalism(1922)which is based on the ethics of Lipps and involved contemporary political problems.Despite his extensive and profound knowledge of aesthetics,Abe was not able to complete strucuring his own aesthetic world.I believe it is because Empathic Aesthetics is not a relative theory which can be replaced by another,but a kind of world view based on Personalism which regards a mere object as an irreplaceable personality.He refers to his aesthetic idea as'Aesthetics from Inward',which includes aesthetic experience,expression,interpretation and moreover cultural philosophy.Empathy,however,remains in the center of his hypothetical aesthetics.
