兴学女旗人继识一事迹考

旗人女性是清末北京创办女学堂的主要力量,其中最具传奇色彩的堪称继识一。继识一之父祥亨曾任荆州将军,主持完成《荆州八旗驻防志》。继识一随侍父亲任职三十余年,深受启迪。自1905年起,继识一投入自己全部的精力、财产致力兴学,接连创办三所识一第一高等小学堂、识一第二高等小学堂、箴宜女学新式学堂,被时人誉为"罄一己之产,竭毕生之力,兴学育才"。继识一的一生,是旗人女性在清末新政背景之下,从家庭走向广阔社会的生动例证。

Ji Shiyi is an important Manchu woman in the late Qing Dynasty who established the first Shiyi primary school,the second Shiyi primary school and Zhen Yi female school.Ji Shiyi donated all her wealth and houses to help maintain schools’normal operation,but now,she was rarely known.By using materials from newspapers in late Qing Dynasty and materials written by her students and friends,this article tends to describe how Ji Shiyi opened and maintained the schools.This research tends also to reveal the life of Banner people as well Manchu women in the late Qing Dynasty.
