也论绍兴和议期间士人的气节问题——与王曾瑜先生商榷

A Debate on the Moral Integrity of Scholars during 1142-1161 of the Southern Song Dynasty --To Discuss with Mr. Wang Zengyu

王曾瑜先生判断历史人物失节的标准不当,错误地将朱熹、张孝祥、范成大等名士划入失节的范围。他把专制腐败政治作为导致古代士人失节的第一位因素和士人失节是正常状态、守节反而是非常状态的观点都是错误的。

The criteria Mr. Wang Zengyu used to judge the betrayal of historical scholars are in question. He incorrectly put Zhu Xi, Zhang Xiaoxiang, Fan Chengda and other famous scholars in the list of betrayal. He regarded the dictatorial and corrupted political system as the major factor to the betrayal of the ancient scholars. He also asserted that the betrayal of the scholars he referred to was normal, but the integrity of them was abnormal. Unfortunately, we believe that his arguments are not correct.
