Relation between China's Central Governments and Dalai Lamas in History

13世纪以来,中国历代中央政府均对西藏行使有效的主权管辖。自清朝起至1959年达赖喇嘛出逃止,中央政府是通过扶植与支持西藏宗教与行政领袖达赖喇嘛(还有班禅喇嘛)来管辖西藏地方的。直到新中国成立之前,各任达赖喇嘛的基本立场都是拥护祖国统一,服从中央的统治。只是在冷战的国际背景下,十四世达赖喇嘛在西藏上层分裂势力和国际反华势力的挟持与支持下,才走上了与中央政府相背离的流亡道路。

Every Chinese central government of past dynasties has exerted effective sovereignty domination on Tibet since 13th century. The central government ruled Tibet by supporting the chief of religion and administration-Dalai Lama (including Banchan Lama) from Qing Dynasty to 1959 when Dalai Lama escaped abroad. Every Dalai lama's basic position was to advocate unification of motherland and obey the domination of central government before the founding of P.R.C. The 14th Dalai Lama adopted a policy which was deviated from central government under the control and support of Tibet super stratum and international influence of anti-China under international background of Cold War.
