Critical Analysis of the Theory of Communicative Competence

本文分析了交际能力理论的由来及发展 ,着重评析了交际能力理论的创世人Hymes的理论框架。文章指出Hymes的交际能力理论过分强调语言的社会性 ,忽视了交际主体———人的主观因素。笔者认为交际能力应包括认知理解能力 。

After a brief analysis of the source and development of the theory of communicative competence, the paper has made a critical analysis of the theoretical framework of Dell Hymes, the initiator of the theory. It argues that Hymes' theory overemphasizes the social aspect of language, ignoring subjectivity of interlocutors, the main body in communication. The author points out that cognitive competence should be included as an important component in the framework of communicative competence, so that sociality of language and cognitive psychology of interlocutors can be combined into an organic whole.
