一个民族在社会发展的各个阶段,必然会形成与之相适应的生活习俗和信仰习俗。在社会生活中,民间风俗习惯常常以各种具体的民俗事象,如宗教仪式、群体节日、民间习俗、礼仪、信仰等体现出来。这些异彩纷呈、具有文化内蕴的民俗事象具有鲜明的民族性、传承性和象征意义,反映出民俗与人类的发展和社会的进步、与民族的世界观和价值观之间具有密切联系。

Different periods in a nations history invariably give rise to different customs and beliefs, which are embodied in such things as folklore, religious rites, festivals, folk customs, and ceremonies, etc. These different forms of folk culture reflect the distinctive characteristics of a nation, handed down from generation to generation. An analysis of these form of folk culture can give us an insight into the relationship between folk culture and the development of mankind.
