Many artists in Guangxi have painted excellent works, especially in landscape painting. However, both the artists and their worksare not acquired by the outside, since they couldn’t form a regional identity. Being a famous landscape in the world, Lijiang River in Guilin supplies many materials for painting, including in oil-painting andin traditional Chinese painting (brush-and-ink). On Sept 14, 2002, over 20 painters and art critics gather in a seminar, held by thelocal government and the Artists Association, in order to find some ways to establish their group identity, which is called LijiangPainting School...
