The Peach Blossom Smile in the Spring Breeze--Appreciation on the Official-kilned Porcelain Wares in the Xuantong Reign Preserved by Nanjing Museum

1908年,在北京故宫太和殿举行了登基大典,年仅两岁的溥仪被抱上了皇帝的宝座,年号宣统,这标志着清代一个新朝的开始。仅三年后,1911年10月,武昌起义的炮声,预示着一个新时代即将到来;1912年元旦,新军宣布成立中华民国;

Though only of three years' producing history, the official-kilned porcelain production in the Xuantong Reign reflected a kind of modern taste of the art works whether in regard of the base, glaze, color or the technique, compared with those of the Guangxu reign which gave the impression of decaying. It imitated the types and forms of the former reigns to show a splendid and gorgeous style, most of which were produced every reigns.
