This paper examines thirty polysyllabic structural words in The History of the Song Dynasty from the perspective of word - formation. It points out that the polysyllabic structural words are an integral part of the study of the vocabulary of The History of the Song Dynasty, the research of which will help further explore the periodical characteristics of the dissyllabic words in the course of their development, thus providing some important evidence for the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary.
