The book The Phrases-book of Being Officials is not only the textbook of the Qing Dynasty, but also the admonitions to the present government officials. The book was directed against eight general morbid mood in the officialdom such as building up the adherents, purchasing the reputation, seeking the private property, bending the law to comply with the benefit, being swelling with pride, performing in the hypocritical way, going along with the influential and performing the duty perfunctorily. All of those are present in the present officialdom in different degree. So this book should give us introspection in comparison and bring into full play.
