Further Understanding of Fu Sinian's Views on Vernacular Literature

现代白话文运动是在两个递进式的层面上操作运行的 ,一是破坏古典文言文 ,二是建构现代白话文。付斯年在五四时期提出的白话文学观对现代白话文的建构具有重要的意义和价值。从文言合一观、文法欧化观及文学人化观三个方面 ,具体论述了他的白话文学观。

The Modern Vernacular Chinese Movement was operated on two progressive levels:the destruction of classical Chinese and the construcfion of modern vernacular Chinese.Fu Sinian's views on vernacular literature,which were put forward in the period of the May 4th Movement,were of great importance and value for the construction of modern vernacular Chinese.In this paper,a detailed discussion is made of his views on vernacular literature in terms of unification of spoken and written language,Europeanization of Chinese grammar,and humanization of literature.
