汪士慎生平旧事考

A study of the life story of Wang Shishen

在扬州八怪画家中,有关汪士慎来扬州以前的情况,存世资料不多,汪氏生前诗集《巢林集》中语焉不详,以至在籍贯居里上有三种说法,在早年事迹上有多种推测。笔者拟从汪士慎的籍贯居里、场屋之困、亲人亡故、邗上交游四方面考察其早年旧事,以乞教于海内外方家。

Among the Eight Eccentric Painters of Yangzhou,there exists few data about Wang Shishen's conditions before he came to Yangzhou.The conditions involved in his collection of poems is rather sketchy so that his native place has been formulated into three different ways and there have been various conjectures about his past experience.The present paper intends to make a study of his past events from four respects,namely,his native place,the frustrations he encountered in examinations,the departure of his relatives and making his friends in Yangzhou.
